MIND YOUR DEMOCRACY
As we approach the 2024 election in the US and witness the erosion of democratic norms, the threat of rising authoritarianism and theocracy, and the loss of womens’ rights, many are feeling anxious, angry and exhausted.
Inaction is not a viable option.
Democracy in its highest form is an engaged, spiritual practice. It’s about caring for others.
As a meditation practitioner and teacher, I know that we need community spaces to heal and dream together, to stay grounded in compassion as we firmly stand for a world where all beings are respected and honored.
In a culture flooded with noise and hostility, coming together in a compassionate community to ask what is ours to do is a radical act of love and sanity.
I’ll be offering a few drop-in online mindfulness gatherings as we approach November. These will be safe spaces for us to meditate and find refuge in community as we lighten our spirits and consider wise actions rooted in hope and clarity that will benefit collective well being.
These sessions will be pay-what-you-can and ALL proceeds will be donated to Planned Parenthood Action Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting for the rights of women because (and it’s shocking that I have to say this in America in 2024) we trust women to make decisions about their own bodies.
Things are shifting and changing quickly. Let’s have some touch-points with each other as we gather with our shared intention for a wiser, more compassionate world.
