RETREAT AND FUNDRAISER

SEPTEMBER 30, 2023

CONCORD, MA

10 AM – 4 PM

✾FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT THE OCEAN & WHALES

Please join me for an intimate gathering and retreat at my home in Concord, MA for a day dedicated to you and to the greater good. We will come together in community in meditation, gentle movement, mindfulness practices, ceremony and connection. It’s a day to unplug and enjoy some extended self-care in community of other beautiful humans.

ALL PROFITS will go towards the Capt. Paul Watson Foundation.

Our Wellness is Interconnected

Our personal well-being is not separate from the well-being of the planet. That’s why this offering feels especially powerful.

We come together with a shared intention:

cultivating the best parts of ourselves while connecting and supporting each other, AND supporting the health of the oceans and those who make their home in the ocean.

As Capt. Paul Watson famously says:

“If the oceans die, we die.”

For humans and the natural world

Healing is an inside job

  Health takes commitment

  • If you’ve ever attended a meditation or yoga retreat, you know what can happen. Sometimes we need to disrupt the day-to-day patterns to find some inner peace, and to make space for our own true voice to emerge.
  • We need dedicated time to set intentions for this precious life.
  • Oftentimes the loving, supportive retreat container itself is therapeutic.
  • We are meant to thrive in community! Throughout history women have gathered in intentional ways which are grounded in the earth and her cycles.
  • Disconnection leads to disempowerment.

Some fun-facts:

  • This is my first in-person event since Covid! I’ve missed seeing faces in-person.
  • It’ll likely be the only event I will hold at my new home in Concord, MA as there is a plan afoot to put a huge piano in my yoga space 🙂
  • Because it’s a small space, this will be an intimate event.
  • I’ve nicknamed this new space ‘The Shimmering’ because there is often a beautiful layer of mist over the land.

Why should you come?

  • I have attended and led dozens of retreats over the past 15 years and have never once regretted it. Especially in the divided, noisy, chaotic society of today, pressing pause in this deliberate way is a radical act of sanity.
  • You will meet some new, lovely people. You will have a day without any responsibilities or ‘shoulds’. You can be exactly as you are in this judgment-free zone.
  • You will be supporting an amazing charity.
  • We will have fun!

How will the day unfold?

  • The morning will be more like a traditional mindfulness retreat, with different sitting and gentle movement practices. You will be in silence as I guide you.
  • There will be a healthy, nutritious plant-based lunch served which you can eat in community or in silence, as you feel called in the moment. Gluten free options will be available.
  • In the afternoon there will be an opportunity for more group interaction, and opportunity to be outdoors for our practices, weather permitting.
  • If you feel called to stay in silence, that will be available.
  • We will open and close the day with a short ceremony to honor all who show up, our ancestors, the land and the elements.

“We don’t know what to do, but in stopping we enter another way.We listen to our fears and gently we hear something beyond. We hear into the mystery. We course the depths. As we do we hear how intimate this world actually is, how intelligent the depth of mystery is, and how it is speaking to us now.”     ~Thanissara

All profits will be dedicated to the ocean & whales

Why support the Capt. Paul Watson Foundation?

  • There is so much I could say about this man and his courage. He is the co-founder of Greenpeace and the founder of Sea Shepard. He now heads the Capt. Paul Watson Foundation, his latest creation dedicated to bold environmental solutions. The bottom line is that he is a lifelong, fierce leader and advocate in the fight to save the whales and the ocean. There is a movie named Watson about his life.
  • There is also an inspiring film about his early years in Greenpeace called How to Change the World.
  • The health of the oceans are in jeopardy. It’s a sobering topic, but if you want to learn more this book is very accessible.
  • Some whales, like the so-called ‘Right Whale’, are on the brink of extinction. There are only about 10 Vaquita dolphins left. Now is the time to do what we can.

“We need enlightenment, not just individually but collectively, to save the planet. We need to awaken ourselves. We need to practice mindfulness if we want to have a future, if we want to save ourselves and the planet.” ~Thich Nhat Hanh
