Recently I was at a holiday party when I heard something that stopped me in my tracks.
You know the kind of party: boisterous conversations, food and drink aplenty, people dressed in their sparkly finest.
It was all quite lovely.
And yet, truth be told, I was feeling a bit uncomfortable. I didn’t know many people at the party, and these days I have more trouble than ever making small talk.
I’d much rather talk about things like:
- the new world order that is being ushered in
- the resurgence of the divine feminine, embodied by both men and women
- the dissolution of the old structures that have been keeping us small and in servitude
- how the fires raging in CA just might be a physical manifestation of the fires raging within the collective consciousness
But there I was, doing my best to be sociable when I heard these words uttered (from septuagenarian Aunt Josee, of all people):
“We are entering into the 5th dimension, after all.”
I stopped in my tracks, all of my cells perked up.
Me: Excuse me, what did you just say?
J: We’re in the 5th dimension. Do you know who Eckhart Tolle is?
Me: Of course!
J: Well, we are entering into a new wave of consciousness, a new form of reality in which love, compassion and peace will prevail. It’s a move towards embracing wisdom that was well known to the native Americans: a reverence for the earth and the natural world. We’re all moving at our own pace, but we are moving! This is a chance to create something beautiful. The old ways are dying out.
Me (Speechless at first, and then with tears welling up): You don’t know how much hope you’ve just given me that this revolution is actually happening.
J: Of course it is!
Wow. If Aunt Josee is on the transition team, anything is possible.
I moved through the party listening with new ears, actively curious about who else is on board.
Cousin Matt: “I love beef but I can’t eat it anymore. The way they’re raising it and producing it makes it too destructive to the environment.”
Uncle Will: “I grow my own food and enjoy making beautiful food for my family from my own backyard.”
Cousin Nelly: “We need to be more careful with our words. Words help create our reality.”
Cousin Matt again: “I left my job as an engineer to help bring healthy, whole foods to people who live in ‘food deserts’.
Friend Clem: “I took a big pay cut but it was more important to me to be helping underprivileged youth. We get them unplugged, eating healthy food and off as much of their medications as we can.”
All these people are on the team?
Well now, we better buckle up because it looks like this revolution is well underway.
What exactly is the 5th dimension?
The 5th dimension is not a place, it’s a level of consciousness which is higher than the one we’ve been living in. It’s characterized by a certain vibration, and many believe we are transitioning into this dimension now (although some people are transitioning more quickly than others).
In the 5th dimension, people are not motivated by greed and fear as we are now, but by a sense of respect and love for all beings of the earth. 🌎
People are awake to their own majestic, divine nature. They know that all of life is sacred, and that there is enough of what we need to go around-if we start making wise and compassionate choices.
There is no mental baggage or false sense of duality. The illusion of separation is gone.
In the fifth dimension, people live primarily from the heart and not the mind, which is a much more powerful way to manifest. You can read more about this concept here.
But suffice it so say that many people believe we are headed in this direction! And the more people who believe this and start living from this place, the more quickly we can make the transition happen.
If you don’t believe you can help with this transition, I beg to differ because it might all come down to you. You just might be ‘the hundredth monkey’.
The Hundredth Monkey 🐵
The story of the hundredth monkey is a parable of the power of small changes and personal efficacy. The original story says that if a small subgroup of people (or monkeys) is doing something different than the larger group, it is at first considered a quirk or an oddity.
Then one day, a critical mass of people (or monkeys) is all doing or believing in this new thing and it becomes the norm and the default.
Once the hundredth monkey starts doing it, this once novel behavior becomes the new cultural standard. The critical mass has been reached.
The same concept can be applied to states of being. Some believe that when a certain critical number of people achieve a certain awareness, this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind; without words, without struggle, without force.
When the collective field gets strengthened to a certain critical degree, shifts inevitably will happen. There is scientific precedent for this concept in Carl Jung’s collective unconscious, biologists morphogenetic field and even from quantum physics.
Think about what we (collectively) have been sending into the field over the past year. At least here in America where I live, many people have been pouring hatred, resistance, fear and blame into the field.
Meanwhile there are lots of monkeys like myself who have been doing our best to pour love, compassion and understanding into the field. 💛 This is NOT easy. It takes practice, commitment and persistence.
It doesn’t mean we condone certain words and actions. It doesn’t mean we don’t speak out and give voice to that which we believe in. But we do our best to do it all with great compassion.
The words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. speak eloquently to this concept:
“The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral,
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy.
Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it.
Through violence you may murder the liar,
but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth.
Through violence you may murder the hater,
but you do not murder hate.
In fact, violence merely increases hate.
So it goes.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence,
adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness:
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
It’s Up To You ☮️
What do you want to send into the field in 2018? What seeds do you want to plant? If we keep doing what we’ve always done, we’re going to keep getting what we’ve always gotten.
There are ways to deliberately practice being love and sending light into the field. We can practice being the change we want to see. We can dream the new world into being and co-create something beautiful.
Who knows: you just might be the 100th monkey to kick start this revolution into high gear.
I have a brand new 14-day program for us to do this together.
We will practice mindfulness and use our attention and sacred ceremony to bring our intentions to life. Please click here for more information.
As historian Doris Kearns Goodwin says:
“There are but a handful of times in the history of our country when there occurs a transformation so remarkable that a molt seems to take place, and an altered country begins to emerge.”
Now is one such time. We are molting; shedding the old to make space for the new.
We are privileged to be able to usher in this new world. Let’s transform the anger, fear and despair into hope and abundance for all.
I hope to spend some time with you in January.
Wishing you and yours a peaceful and joyous transition into 2018 and all that is to come.
with love,
Erin
